Magazine Reflection Take Two!

1. Overall, when you think about the big picture of your writing, what improved? How did it get better? Why?
Looking at my writing from the first draft and looking at my final draft, it improved drastically. Going through each critique, my structure became so much better. I had no structure in the first draft and everything was just thrown around, each time we had a critique I would get suggestions and go back and fix them. An example of this was that my writing was scattered in all different paragraphs when I could have had the sentences organized together. This improved my writing completely.

2. Overall, when you think about the big picture of your writing, what still needs work? What do you think will help you improve? Why?
I think my introduction on my article could be stronger. I think one last critique by Randy or a student could help me make my intro as strong as it can be. I feel that critiques help me the most out of anything.

3. Specifically, show us something that improved and describe the path it took to get better. You can quote your article, your drafts, link to evidence, etc.
My biggest improvement would be my conclusion
draft:

"The students around High Tech High Media Arts (HTHMA) have been asked if they had enjoyed internship, a good majority of them simply said “no”, But when asked if they gained anything from their internship experience, many said how much they had learned. The internship experience may not always be fun and enjoyable, but at the end of the day what has been gained from the experience is a whole new world of knowledge. Internship does not only prepare students for the "real world" it gives them a chance to experience a field of business that could be considered for a future career or could be decided as a no for a future career."

final:

"Even though not all students have enjoyed internship, they say they have gained a tremendous amount from the experience. The internship experience may not always be fun and enjoyable, but at the end of the day what has been gained from the experience is a whole new world of knowledge. Internship does not only prepare students for the "real world", it gives them a chance to experience a field of business that could be considered for a future career or could be decided as a no for a future career."

4. Describe something specific (or a few things!) that you learned about writing.
The thing that I learned most about writing would probably be that drafting and revision helps me more than anything. At the end of the project, after I had turned my final draft in, I went and got all my drafts and looked through them. I probably had about 15 drafts and each one was so much better as they went along.
