The Magazine Reflection!

This project has been a great project for me to work on my writing skills. Drafting and revision have helped me the most through out this project. I know I probably sound repetitive because I say that so much but I feel that has helped me so much. Each draft I made improved from the previous one. My structure in writing has also noticeably improved from this project. Normally work would be thrown around in different paragraphs but I think this article came out very structured. When I put my writing into Indesign and started working on the layout, I was exactly sure how I wanted it. With the help of Randy and my classmates it came out just how I hoped. I used my photography from my photo essay in my article, I think it looks very nice. I wasn't exactly sure what I wanted to write about but I knew I had to make something new instead of using my photo essay. I chose to write about what it is like preparing for internship and how much it teaches the students. The process of printing the magazine is long. The proofs came back about 3 times and each time there were more mistakes to be found. I never knew what a long process it would be, but its really cool learning what goes on in the process of making a magazine.

I think that the overall experience of internship was amazing. I don't know anyone else that gets the experience in high school. Even if my internship wasn't as enjoyable as I thought, the learning process was great. I really think that this will help me in future jobs and work experiences. I think parts of this magazine will show what our economy is going through, and I'm not positive if it tells it in the magazine but the people who got laid of their internship should share with our audience at exhibition to show what the economy has done even to non paid interns.

What did you learn?
What I learned most would be the long process of writing, drafting, revision and the actual process of making a magazine.
How did you learn in?
I leaned this my going through the actual project and doing so much hands on work to complete this amazing project.
Why is this important?
This is important because everything that we learned is going to be used in the real world, no matter what you will always use writing in the future. Also the experience of making an actual magazine is going to look good on any job and for college as well.
